SOUTH BEND - Margaret M. Jurkaites, 94, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Margaret was born on February 16, 1916, in South Bend, to George and Agnes (Kish) Papp. She was employed by the University of Notre Dame and also worked in the Sherlan Building.On June 4, 1935, in South Bend, she married James L. Jurkaites, who died on December 8, 1996. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Bentzler and Ethel Clugston; and three brothers, George Papp, Joseph Papp and James Papp.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia (John) Karkiewicz of South Bend; two sons, Frank (Kathleen) Jurkaites of South Bend and James (Shirley) Jurkaites of South Haven, MI; six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Betty) Karkiewicz, Kimberly Karkiewicz, Bryan Karkiewicz, Joseph (Stacey) Jurkaites, Christopher (Michele) Jurkaites and Colleen (Brad) Shook; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
