SOUTH BEND - Ervin G. Dombrowski, 93, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in Memorial Hospital. Ervin was born on June 17, 1921, in South Bend, to Marion and Stella (Ludwiczak) Dombrow-ski, and was a lifelong resident. He retired on January 1, 1986, from Nimet Industries, where he was employed for 30 years. On August 14, 1943, in St. Adalbert Church, he married Helen Hyduk, who preceded him in death on October 16, 2004. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Tom (Nancy) Dombrowski and Ken Dombrowski; and one sister, Loretta Bukowski. Survivors include his daughter, Judy (Michael) Kalka of South Bend, Indiana; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Dombrowski of South Bend, Indiana; four grandchildren, Phillip (Sue) Dombrowski, Cindy Dombrowski, Christie (Mark) Colpaert and Curtis Dombrowski; three step-grandchildren, Matthew Kalka, Sidney Leda and Spencer Leda; and five great-grandchildren, Summer Leigh Dombrowski, Cameron Dombrowski, Addisyn Colpaert, Brayden Farmer and Donovan Farmer; one sister-in-law, Frances Hyduk of South Bend, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2014, in St. Adalbert Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Ervin was a member of St. Adalbert Parish. He was a W.W. II Marine veteran and a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #357. The family wishes to thank the staff at Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, East 1, for their loving care of Ervin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Adalbert Church.
