Joanne M. Kabel, age 83, of South Bend, passed away at 9:15 pm Wednesday at Hamilton Grove, New Carlisle. Joanne was born on December 8, 1934 in Mishawaka to the late Charles and Dorothy (Porter) Rospopo and has lived in this area all of her life. On June 27, 1953, in Mishawaka, she married Frederick Kabel who preceded her in death in January of 1995. Survivors include three daughters, Linda (Jim) Keeler of Cassopolis, MI, Lisa (Roger) Sisk of Rossville, IN and Laura (Kris) Heckaman of South Bend. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren. Justin (Michelle) Keeler and their four children, Eliza, Reid, Audrey and Miles; Amy (Neil) Graber and their two children, Emma and Bella, Hailey and Shelby Heckaman; Annalee and Jakob Sisk. Two brothers survive; Donald (Barb) Rospopo of Elkhart and Charles “Chuck” Rospopo of South Bend. Joanne’s son, Rickey Kabel, preceded in death. A family and friends gathering will take place from 10:00 - 11:00 am Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614. A graveside service will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions in memory of Joanne M. Kabel may be given to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
