SOUTH BEND - Daniel A. Guzowski, 83, residing in South Bend, IN passed away at 4:55 PM Thursday, November 14, 2013 at his home. Daniel was born on January 30, 1930 in South Bend to the late Stephen and Regina (Winnicki) Guzowski and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. On February 17, 1962 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Addie (Young) Guzowski, who survives. Daniel is also survived by his daughters, Mary (Don) Dabrowiak of Kingston Springs, TN, Grace (Rick) Nogle, Glenda Frederick and Pam Kolozsvary, all of South Bend; sons, Peter (Kathy) Herman of Granger, Charles Herman, Greg Guzowski, and Terry Guzowski, all of South Bend; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Daniel was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Cory Guzowski and Kevin Herman, and by two brothers, Richard and Authur. Daniel was the owner of Dan's Garage where he worked for many years as a mechanic and body repairman. He was a "renaissance man," a man who enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, upholstering, working in carpentry, canning the food that he grew in his garden, and loved dancing the polka. The family would like to express their appreciation to Natalie (Home Health Care Nurse) and his great-granddaughter, Ashley Guyberson for their wonderful care and compassion during his time of illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 18, 2013 at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Monday.
