SOUTH BEND - Robert M. Dhoore, 74, passed away peacefully September 13, 2014 after a long illness. Born July 6, 1940, he was the son of the late Julian and Marie (Schymanski) Dhoore. On August 31, 1963, Bob married Margaret Ann Skwiat. They shared 22 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 1985. A daughter, Michelle, and two siblings, David Dhoore and Marilyn Slock, also preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory are four children, Deborah (Chris) Monjeau, Melissa Williams, and Robert (Susie) Dhoore, all of South Bend, and Thomas Dhoore of Denver, CO. He is also survived by one brother, Steven (Carol) Dhoore; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Bob proudly served in the National Guard. He was active in the On site prayer ministry and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish. He enjoyed fishing, playing Euchre, and watching Notre Dame's women's basketball. He was dearly loved and will be missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 9:30-11:30 AM, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:30 AM at the McGann Hay, University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd., South Bend. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Polish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Bob's name, to any St. Vincent de Paul location.
