Marie A. Dhoore, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Marie was born on March 31, 1920, in South Bend, as the daughter of John and Stella "Mary" (Fischer) Schymanski. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Marilyn Slock in 1964, and a granddaughter in 1997. On July 29, 1939, in South Bend, as the former Marie A. Schymanski, she married Julian C. Dhoore, who preceded her in death on January 3, 1992. Left to cherish Marie's memory are three sons, David J. Dhoore of Mishawaka, Robert M. Dhoore of South Bend and Steven (Carol) Dhoore of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, John Schymanski of South Bend. Marie worked in the loan department at First Source Bank for 13 years until she retired in 1982. She was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church and Harvest House of St. Joseph. She very much enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Marie had a strong faith in God and loved her church. She was a good and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a good friend to many people. Marie enjoyed laughing and joking with all. Family and friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. today, Thursday, December 22, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where there will be a wake prayer service at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 23, in St. Bavo Catholic Church, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Marie's name to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544. South Bend Tribune 12/22/2005
