Robert “Bobby” Kandzierski

SOUTH BEND - Robert “Bobby” J. Kandzierski, 66, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016, in his home with his family by his side. Bob was born April 27, 1950, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Virginia (Nakapla) Kandzierski. On July 16, 1977, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Bob married his loving wife and best friend, Christena “Tena” (Buszkiewicz) Kandzierski, who survives along with children, Melanie M. Kandzierski of Atlanta, GA, Andrea C. (Ryan) Romig of New Carlisle, Rebekah M. Kandzierski of Atlanta, GA, Marci L. (Andy) Grolemund of South Bend, Kathryn A. (Steven King, Jr.) Kandzierski of South Bend, Deborah L. (Travis Keiper) Kandzierski of Mishawaka, Stephanie E. Kandzierski of Atlanta, GA, and Christopher S. Kandzierski of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, Faith, Vanessa, Aryanna, Aiden, Stevie and Penelope; sister, Judith (Richard) Troutman-Kandzierski of AZ; and aunts, Josephine and Phyllis. Bob attended St. Adalbert grade school. Bob served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. He was an X-Ray Technologist at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and worked as a medical researcher for CCCR in Chicago. Bob was a parishioner of St. Hedwig Catholic Church. He served on the Board of Directors with St. Joseph Funeral Homes and Cemetery for 15 years. Bob was member of PNA 83. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, listening to music and Polka dancing. Bob was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs fan, and he enjoyed a good Poker game. Most of all, Bob loved his family, especially his grandchildren. A Gathering for Bobby will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, September 22, 2016, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a Memorial Service to begin at 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
