SOUTH BEND - Ladislaus F. "Loddy" Klaudusz, 87, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Friday in Memorial Hospital. Loddy was born on May 27, 1922, in Austria, to John and Katherine (Bregand) Klaudusz. Ladislaus retired from Bendix and was the owner of Loddy's Tavern. He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of American Legion 284, the Army/Navy, ILBA and former member of the D.F.V. German Club. Loddy was preceded in death by his former wife, Deborah Corbett; his companion, Penny Pierce; daughter, Sherri Willis; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Docherty. Surviving are four daughters, Barbie Klaudusz, Robyn (John) Ferch, Katherine "Kathy" (Polito) Cruz and Jennifer (Bob) Miller, all of South Bend; three sons, John (Lucy) Klaudusz of South Bend, Tim Klaudusz of Reno, NV, and Ray Jordan of Bristol, IN; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his longtime friend, Mike Rodick. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Administration.
