John C. Nowicki, 73, of 808 E. Dayton St., died at 11 a.m. Saturday in his home. He was born May 19, 1894, in South Bend and lived here all his life. Surviving is a son Ervin of Mishawaka; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Hassan of South Bend; five grandchildren; three brothers, Edmund, of Indianapolis, Leo and Charles, both of South Bend; and five sisters, Mrs. Arthur Odor, Mrs. August VanderHeyden, Mrs. Joseph Cherpes, Mrs. Frank Klimek and Mrs. Josephine Varga, all of South Bend. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Matthews Cathedral, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Anold J. Wibbert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. He was a member of the board of directors of the Sobieski Federal Savings and Loan Assn. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
