On Nov. 24, 1891, Rev. P. Johannes, C.S.C., pastor of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana married Michael Strantz and Theresa Curtis. The 1900-1910 federal census records of South Bend, Indiana, indicate that Michael and Theresa Strantz, both had come from Hungary in the 1880s, and that by 1910, Theresa had had nine children, all living (in birth order): William, Michael, Katie, Matthew, Theresa, Joseph, twins Pauline and Paul, and Mary.
