SOUTH BEND - Dennis R. Krol, 62, passed away Tuesday, October 1st, in his residence in South Bend after a sudden illness. Mr. Krol was born on June 27, 1951, in Mishawaka, IN, to Joseph L. Krol and Norma F. (Walker) Krol. He worked as a lead maintenance technician at the University of Notre Dame for over 30 years. Dennis is survived by his mother, Norma Krol of South Bend; one daughter, Jennifer Krol of South Bend; three sisters, Monica F. (Bud Ritchie) Krol of Walkerton, Noreen Krol of South Bend and Renita Jaworski of North Liberty, IN; and two brothers, Patrick J. Krol of North Liberty, IN, and Joseph "Joey" Krol of Mill Creek, IN. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph L. Krol, on March 1, 1996. Mr. Krol was a 1970 graduate of North Liberty High School. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Dennis enjoyed working on all types of sports cars and was a lover of Corvettes. He was extremely mechanical and could fix any automotive engine. A celebration of Dennis's life will be held Saturday, October 5th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hanley and Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at 23421 State Road 23 / West Ireland Road. Cremation has taken place. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to IMECO Federal Credit Union, 3404 W. Bolen Dr., South Bend, IN 46628. Dennis will be dearly missed by his loving family, co-workers at the University of Notre Dame, and numerous friends he made during his life journey. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Krol family.
