SOUTH BEND - Elizabeth "Betty" Molnar, 94, passed away at 12:50 pm Thursday, March 13, 2014, in Hospice House, Elkhart. Betty was born on December 23, 1919, in South Bend, to Vincent and Irene (Borsody) Alasko. She was employed by Enro, Kreske and K-Mart. Betty was a proud supporter of local BINGO, the Slots and Crossword Puzzles. She was a member of the former St. Stephen's Catholic Church and its PTA and a current member of St. Casimir Catholic Church. On February 3, 1940, in South Bend, she married . He died on June 25, 2002. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Herczeg, James Herczeg and Carl Alasko. Surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Ken) Grzegorek of Hamilton, OH, and Donna (Don) Alexander of South Bend; a son, Dennis Molnar of Sault Sainte Marie, MI; 10 grandchildren, Michael Molnar, Karen Srmek, Diana Montgomery, Jason Grzegorek, Matthew Molnar, Chris Bleile, Donna Taylor, Diana Nichols, Tammy Terry and Don Alexander; 18 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Michelle, Mariah, Nicholas, Jessica, Matthew, Sarah, Kelly, Jeffrey, Jarrett, Alex, John, Ryan, Craig, Anthony, Clarice, Kyra and Adam; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Michael, David and Nevaeh; 1 sister, Rosemary (Dale) McColley of South Bend; 3 brothers, Stephen (Sheila) Herczeg, Anthony (Nancy) Herczeg and Lewis (Nancy) Herczeg, all of South Bend; 2 sisters-in-law, Sheila Herczeg and Dottie Herczeg, both of South Bend; and Mom's other son and daughter-in-law, Bob (Sally) Milewski. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. "Mark" Harmon for treating mom with such dignity and care. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:30 am Monday, March 17, 2014, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may call from 2-6 today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation.
