CASSOPOLIS - Steven G. Mesko, age 84, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, in his residence. Steven was born April 12, 1931, in Cass County, Michigan, to Steven and Arminda (Stewart) Mesko. He married Anita Sue Leodler February 24, 1962, in Cassopolis, Michigan. She survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother-in-law, Glenn Fosdick. Steve will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-three years, Anita (Leodler) Mesko of Cassopolis; one son, Reggie Mesko of Eau Claire, Michigan; two grandchildren, two great- grandchildren; four siblings, Mary Louise Fosdick of Decatur, Michigan, James (Barbara) Mesko of Cassopolis, Robert (Helen) Mesko of Niles and Patricia (Arlen) Swartz of Dowagiac; and a host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis, with Gail Hertsel and Michael Hertsel officiating. Mr. Mesko will be accorded full Military Honors by active members of the Marine Corps and American Legion Edwardsburg Post 365. Because Steve's favorite color was red, the family requests that everyone attending wear red. The family prefers memorial contributions be made in Steve's name to either the Cass County Council on Aging, Post Office Box 5, Cassopolis, Michigan 49031; or the Cass County Fair Association, Post Office Box 56, Cassopolis, Michigan 49031.
