SOUTH BEND - Joseph DiGirolamo, 92, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday January 20, 2016, at his home with his family. Joseph, son of Frank and Rose DiGirolamo, was born on November 15, 1923, in Boston, Massachusetts. He married Dorothea Leona Jahnke in 1948, who predeceased him. He earned an electrical engineering degree from Purdue University and was honored with a doctorate degree, a distinguished alumni award and as an Old Master from Purdue. He served in the South Pacific in World War II in the United States Navy. He was employed by CTS Corporation in Elkhart, Indiana, for 32 years and retired in 1985 as Chairman of the Board. Joseph was active in many civic organizations including the Elkhart Chamber of Commerce, the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce, CTS Foundation, and Purdue University Research Foundation. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in South Bend. Surviving Joseph are his daughter, Jan DiGirolamo, son, Joel A. DiGirolamo, and five grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in his name to the College of Engineering at Purdue University (giving.purdue.edu). Visitation will be Friday, January 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N.
