[N3545] Valeria Harlozinski
October 30, 1919 - April 25, 2018
South Bend - Valeria Harlozinski, 98, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Valeria was born October 30, 1919 in Morris Run, Pennsylvania to the late George and Tillie (Lutomski) Pawlak. They moved to South Bend when she was 6 years old. On October 25, 1941, Valeria married Stanley Harlozinski who preceded her in death on October 27, 1998. She was also preceded in death by their daughter, Patricia Hillebrand; brothers, Walter & Florian Pawlak; a sister, Genevieve Pawlak. Survivors of Valeria include her children. Sharon Harlozinski, Barbara (Francis) Skubiszewski, Stanley (Mary Ann) Harlozinski, Jr; grandchildren, Montana Spencer, Laura Bobbitt, Aaron Skubiszewski, Stacey Skubiszewski, Jacqueline Harlozinski, Stephenie (Greg) Bauer; and great-grandson, Bryce Henry Bauer. Valeria was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Valeria loved her children and grandchildren very much. They were her greatest accomplishment and joy in life. In her own words, “We are very fortunate; we stick together and do things together”, time she could spend with them was precious to her. She was a great cook and baker and passed that talent on to her children. The family always looked forward to her Christmas cake, pineapple cream pie, and butter cookies. Valeria had a very humorous personality but also would not refrain from telling it like it is. She had a deep concern for others and would pray for them, especially in times of need. She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, trips to the casino, garage sales, going out to eat and shopping. Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, April 27, 2018 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary being prayed and time to speak at 5:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am Saturday, April 28, 2018 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Christ Child Society of South Bend, christchildsb.org. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
