BUFFALO, Okla. - Elvin E. "Al" Gardner, 55, died Aug. 16, 2007, at Mercy Health Care, Oklahoma City. He was born Dec. 4, 1951, in Michigan City, Ind., the son of Howard and Dorothy Pries Gardner. He attended Central High School, South Bend, Ind. A resident of Buffalo, Okla., he was a welder and worked in maintenance at OK Feeders, Buffalo, Okla. He belonged to First Baptist Church. On July 23, 1971, he married Anna Marie Ciesialka in South Bend, Ind. She survives. Other survivors include: two sons, John, St. John, Mo., and Christopher, Laverne, Okla.; a daughter, Debra Barton, Buffalo, Okla.; his mother, Dorothy, South Bend, Ind.; two brothers, Richard and Jerry Slisz, both of South Bend, Ind.; five sisters, Linda Wilson, Weaver, Ala., Jeannie King, Mary Bailey and Betty Perez, all of South Bend, Ind., and Sandy Steinback, Montville, Mich.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, Buffalo, Okla., with the Rev. Mike Barton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Myatt Funeral Home, Buffalo, Okla. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church, or the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home.
