GRANGER - Sarah Elizabeth Pellegrini, 34, of Granger, IN, passed away at 5:25 pm Tues., June 18, 2013, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. Sarah was born on June 30th, 1978, in Logansport, IN to Bill Polei & Chris Long Polei. On October 20, 2007, she was united in marriage to Raymond Robert Pellegrini at All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport. Surviving are husband Ray, daughter Anne, & son Joseph, all of Granger; parents Chris & Bill Polei, both of Logansport; grandmother Jennie Brown of Winchester; sisters Katie Keucher (husband, John) of Westerville, OH, & Stephanie Polei (fianc©b, Jimmy Faroh) of Goshen; aunts Karen Long, Jane Long, & Dawn Long, all of Logansport; uncles David Long, Mark (Michele) Long, all of Logansport, & Mike Polei, of Ridgeville; nephews Evan and Eric Pellegrini, both of Victorville, CA, Adam and Daniel Keucher, both of Westerville, OH; cousins Barb (husband, John) Davenport, Jean Brumbaugh, Jim Long, Rachel (husband, Rod) Hainje, Emily (husband, Wes) Anderson, Ryan Long (fianc©be, Shae Creager), Kahla Long, Molly Long, Erin Buntain, Cassie (husband, Mark) Dobbs, Laura (husband, Landon) Blume, Meaghan Long, Patrick Long and Courtney Long, Carrie Becker (husband, Matthew), Holly Hamilton, Derek Hamilton, Allison Hylton, Levi Long, Mason Long, Dalton Long, Brilie Long, Cole Hainje, Luke Hainje, Anna Hainje, Noah Dobbs, Chase Dobbs, Corbin Blume, Case Anderson, Gabe Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Jodi Buckmaster (husband, Marc), Rick (wife, Paula) Polei, Brayden and Brenna Buckmaster, and Dylan Polei. Sarah was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Gene & Elizabeth Long; her paternal grandfather, Lloyd Polei; her aunts, Lisa Long Brown & Kathleen "Abbie" Long; her uncles, Joel Long & Dennis Long; & her son, Malachi Pellegrini. Sarah was a Fertility Care Specialist at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center and also worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Elkhart General Hospital. Previously, she worked as a Perfusionist in Chicago before moving to Granger. She was an active member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Granger and served as a Meal Coordinator for "Elizabeth Ministry" there. Sarah graduated from Logansport High School in 1997. She was a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington in 2001 and Johns Hopkins University in 2003 with a Perfusion certification. Sarah enjoyed art and music. She played the piano, organ, and oboe. She played the organ at All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport, Indiana, while in high school. She sang in several choirs including the Logansport Children's Choir and the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir. Sarah enjoyed hosting play groups for her children, swimming, playing tennis, hiking, traveling, and going to the beach and zoo. Visitation for Sarah and Malachi will be held at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend on Sunday, June 23, 2013, 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 7:00 pm Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 24, 2013, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN at 1:00 pm, where visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. There will be a graveside Service on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 11:00 am at Mt. Hope Cemetery, 1800 Grant Street, Logansport, IN. Contributions in memory of Sarah and Malachi Pellegrini may be offered to St. Pius X Catholic Church with attention to Elizabeth Ministries.
