Marilyn Jane Weiler
January 4, 1930 ~ December 13, 2021 (age 91)
Marilyn Jane Weiler, 91 years old, passed away at 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Bremen. Mrs. Weiler was born on January 4, 1930 in Mishawaka to the late John L. and Julia Virginia (Fuchs) Wozny. She has remained a lifelong area resident. On August 21, 1948 in South Bend, Marilyn and Jayhu J. “Jay” Weiler were united in marriage. Her husband, Jay, preceded her in death on September 4, 2006. Also preceded Marilyn in death was her daughter, Carolyn Jane Ross; sons-in-law, James A. Birkey and Rick Leiter; grandson, Mathew Jerome Weiler; and brothers, John Wozny, Jr. and Danny Wozny.Mrs. Weiler retired in 2009 after working 19 years at Bremen Wire. Previously, she worked at Ernie’s Thrifty Mart in South Bend. Marilyn was hard-working, loved her family and will be missed.Survivors include her five children, Kathy (John) Polinski of Plymouth, Deborah Leiter of Bremen, Julie Birkey of Bremen, Gregory (Chris) Weiler of Lakeville, and Jay Eugene Weiler of South Bend; son-in-law, Larry Ross of South Bend; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sister, Betty Bennett of Bremen; and brother, Mike (Regina) Wozny of Lakeville. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Doris Wozny of South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Pastor Jason Rohde will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marilyn Jane Weiler may be donated to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
