Son of George Rynearson and Amanda Bauchey and husband to Vertia B. Rickey. Frank's brother, George Washington Rynearson, married his wife's sister, Edith Rickey. (Rynearson brothers married Rickey sisters.)

Frank F. Rynearson.

Rynearson, Rt. 4, died at 1:10 a.m. today in his residence after an illness of one year. He was born in South Whitley, Ind. in 1882 and came to South Bend 50 years ago. He was employed with the South Bend Water Department 48 years. He is survived by his widow, the former Vertia Rickey; six daughters, Mrs. Lester Meyers, Mishawaka; Mrs. Donald Hooton and Mrs. Edward Hermann, South Bend; Mrs. Clarence Crill, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs. Joseph Farkas, Dowagiac, Mich., and Mrs. Lonnie Utley, Crown Point, Ind.; three sons, Carl, Earl, and Lloyd, South Bend; three brothers, Ollie, Waltonville, Ill.; George, Auburn, Ind., and Floyd, Corunna, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Nora McDonald, Corunna, and Miss Lottie Rynearson, Kenosha, Wis.; four step brothers, George Shade, North Liberty; Elsworth Shade, Archie Bald, O.; Frank Shade, Toledo, O., and Melvin Shade Hillsdale, Mich.; 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call in the Hollis Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday. The funeral will be held in Christ Chapel Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Ray Jones officiating. Burial will be in Sumption Prarie Cemetery.

Notes:

1. Not mentioned in the obituary was that during his employment, Frank Firmer Rynearson was the Superintendent of the South Bend Water Works.

2. Siblings mentioned include brothers Ollie, George and Floyd; sisters Nora and Lottie; stepbrothers, George, Elsworth,, Melvin, and Frank Shade, Archie Bald.

Grandson, Donald Rynearson, recalls that "Frank Firmer Rynearson . . . preferred to go by Frank, but his name was Firmer Frank, and his brother and that part of the family did call him Firmer." (Permission to publish was granted by Donald Rynearson on 7-4-2012.)
