Very little is known of this individual. Family story has always been that he died young, when his daughter Maria was a baby. He may have been a wrestler. His death occurred after he tried to lift (or fight) a bull--that he was gored, or had some kind of ruptured viscera as a result, in the day or days following the event. The story has always been that he may have been dared to do it, perhaps by some of his buddies in a tavern. Szymon (Simon) died between 1883-1886, probably in the Trzciana, Rzeszow area of Poland.
