MISHAWAKA - August D. Dutoi, 88, passed away after an illness at 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29, in his residence. Mr. Dutoi was born on Sept. 5, 1910, in Mishawaka, Ind., as the son of the late Michael and Isabelle (Van De Casteele) Dutoi. On Oct. 17, 1936, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, he married Mildred M. O'Neil. She preceded him in death earlier this year on April 2, 1998. He is survived by one sister, Dorothy Reynolds of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Albert Dutoi of South Bend, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; along with many friends and other relatives. Mr. Dutoi was employed by Uniroyal Inc. of Mishawaka for 32 years before retiring in 1972. He was a World War II Army veteran, a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360 in Mishawaka, American Legion Post 161, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
