Regarding Andrew, the elder fo the two brothers, he was born in 1840 in the same village of Bialosliw, but remained there until about 1880. Meanwhile , he had married Katarzyna Dziobek and engaged in orchard farming. Ten children were born of this marriage: [here, again, I'm assuming that they're listed in descending age order] - Ladislaus, Boleslaus, Julius, Chester, Thaddeus, Joseph, Mary (Kalczynski), Helen (Repczynska Fiwek), Hattie (Hosinski) and Lottie (Hazisnki). The last two girls were born in South Bend and two other children died in childbirth. . . . Andrew arrived in Soouth Bend with his two eldest sons {Ladislaus & Boleslaus] and when a home was ready for his family, he sent for his wife and children [six to come?] His sister, Anna came at the same time. One more trip was made to Europe when his wife returned with three-year old Hattie to dispose of their property in Bialosliw. . . . Andrew worked at the Oliver Chilled Plow Works before he retiured to live with his eldest daughter [Mary] until his death on July 6, 1930.
Anna and her husband, Peter, remained in South Bend for about five year and then they moved to Duluth, Minnesota where he continued his blacksmith trade.
