ELKHART - O. Marie Kasa, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Elkhart Hospice House. She was born Feb. 16, 1933, in Nashville, Tenn., to Fallie and Beulah (Mills) Joines. She married Larry A. Kasa on June 27, 1964, in Elkhart.He survives with a son, Phillip Kasa of Elkhart; five grandchildren, Jessica, Brock, Bailey, Benjamin and Kasey; four great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Peg Kasa of Elkhart; and brother Michael (Lori) Brock of Hilton Head, S.C. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Michael G. Kasa; two brothers; and one sister. Marie worked for Excel Corp. and Crown International as an assembler. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and enjoyed doing crafts with her grandkids and dining out with her family.Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19. The Rev. John Hogsett will officiate. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the church or to the Center for Hospice Care.
