SOUTH BEND - Genevieve M. Beitler, 88, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2016 in the West Wood Facility of Niles. Genevieve was born February 10, 1927 in South Bend to the late Alex and Clara (Kochanowski) Kosik. November 22, 1947, Genevieve married her loving husband Donald Beitler who preceded her in death on May 2, 1989. Genevieve was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy “Sister M. Martin, FDC”. Survivors of Genevieve include her daughters, Beth (Gary) Evins of Las Vegas, NV., and Nancy Beitler of South Bend; sister, Helen O'Loughlin of Sacramento, CA, brother, John A. Kosik; granddaughters, Jennifer Bascom of Allentown, PA, and Kimberly Jacox of South Bend; great-grandson, Liam Bascom and several nieces and nephews.
Genevieve previously worked at Brite Way Sales where she formed many lasting friendships. She retired from River Park Jewelry where she repaired watches. She was known for her kiefles and large Sunday dinners where everyone was welcome. Genevieve had a heart of gold and always helped others in need. Most of all Genevieve was a very loving grandmother. St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family. Per Genevieve's wishes, there will be no service.
