[N2196] Joseph Futa, 81, of Hedge Maple Court, formerly of S. Kaley Street, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away Friday, August 12, 2005, at Regency Place of South Bend. Mr. Futa was born on January 18, 1924, in South Bend, Indiana to Vincent and Mary (Kapalczynski) Futa. Joseph retired from the Automotive Department of Sears on February 1, 1986, after 31 years of service. On November 20, 1948, Joseph married the former Evelyn M. Orlowski who survives. Surviving with his wife Evelyn of 57 years is his daughter, Nancy Futa of South Bend; his sons, Larry and his wife Becky Futa of South Bend, Richard Futa of South Bend, Randall Futa of Santa Barbara, California; seven grandchildren, Keith and his wife Robyn and their children, Kaitlyn & Emily Futa, Kevin and his wife Erica and their children, Conner, Madison and Jackson Futa, Kory Futa, Scott and his wife Sarah and their children, Brennen and Ryne Futa, Eric and his fiancee Brandi and their daughter, Kylie Futa, Mark and his wife Sarah and their children Evan and Austin Futa, and Dan Futa; a sister, Theresa and her husband Edward Szalewski of South Bend; and a brother, Henry and his wife Katie Futa of South Bend. Brothers, Ollie, Edward and Bernard Futa all preceded him in death. Visitation will be held from 2-8PM Sunday, August 14, 2005, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a Parish Rosary will be held at 5PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, August 15, 2005, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
