ELKHART -- Friends of Louis N. Jakab, 89, of 24381 Belmar Drive, may call two hours prior to the funeral at 1 p.m. Monday at Hartzler-Gutermuth Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery, Paulding, Ohio. Mr. Jakab died at 1 p.m. Friday (Jan. 24, 2003) in Valleyview Healthcare Center. He was born to Miklos and Rosalea (Takacs) Jakab on June 30, 1913, in Budapest, Hungary. He married Ramona Leeth on Oct. 26, 1974, in South Bend. She survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Steven (Julianna) Wieger of South Bend; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Mapes of Carlisle, Pa., and Mrs. George (Cheryl) Cox of Indianapolis; a son, Louis Jr. of South Bend; two stepsons, Brian Leeth of Orland, Maine, and Bruce Leeth of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Nicholas Jakab of South Bend. For more than 30 years, Mr. Jakab was a tool and die maker for South Bend Tool and Die. He retired in 1988. He had been a member of the Moose Lodge and Model Railroaders. He collected Lionel trains and loved to dance. Memorials may be given to Riverview Adult Day Care Center
