July 9, 1923 - June 17, 2012
Norma J. Huryn, 88, Laporte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 03:15 pm in Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Michigan City. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 22, 2012 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 So. Woodland Ave., Michigan City with the Rev. Frank Torres, officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Visitation will be from 4pm till 8pm Thursday & Friday from 8:30am till 9:30 am in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City. She was born July 9, 1923 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Walter & Anna Batzel. On October 5, 1946 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Floyd R. Huryn, who preceded her on September 16, 2004. Surviving are Daughter, Gail Huryn, and 2 Sons, David Huryn, and Mark Huryn all of Laporte, Indiana; Special Friends, Robert (Susan) Day and their son Robert Day of Beverly Shores, Indiana; She was preceded in death by Brother, Robert Batzel. She retired after 21 years from Al's Supermarkets doing numerous job functions. Former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Michigan City. Mrs. Huryn enjoyed fishing on Lake Michigan and smaller lakes. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching the animals. The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to the 3rd floor staff at Francisican St. Anthony Health, Michigan City for all of the kindness shown to them.
