SOUTH BEND - Ervin Frank Cukrowicz, 86, passed away Wednesday in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation. Ervin was born on August 9, 1923, in South Bend to the late Nicholas and Mary Ann (Paprocki) Cukrowicz. He was preceded ind eath by his wife, Evleyn Cukrowicz in December 2005, and by his brother, Art Cukrowicz. He is survived by his daughter, Mona Walton of Pearce, AZ; two grandchildren, Richard and Rick Walton; and a great-granddaughter ReSchell Walton and her children, Jeffery, Tieler, Anthony, Jordan, and Isiah; also his brothers, Raymond (Liz) Cukrowicz of Kalamazoo, MI and Bob Cukrowicz of Missouri. He is also survivied by his niece, Beverly Ciesielski and nephew, Ronald Cukrowicz; and by his very dear friends, Cindy Grantham. Ervin served his country in the Unites States Navy, he worked for Studebaker and retired from AM General. He was a parishioner of St. Casimir Catholic Church, and was a member of the American Legion Post 357, VFW, Democratic Association and the West Side Democratic club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, UAW Auto, and the Moose Lodge. He loved to go bowling and enjoyed playing cards. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on today Sept. 4 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the funeral home prior to the liturgy. Memorials to American Heart Association , 208 S. LaSalle St., Ste,, 1500 Chicago, IL 60604-1242.
