Mrs. Wanda Banicki
Mrs. Wanda Banicki, 78, of 701 S. Camden, died at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carlyle Nursing Home after
an extended illness. She was born on June 25, 1899 in Michigan City and had lived in the area most of
her life. On June 30, 1919, as Wanda Leda, she married Peter Banicki. He died on Feb. 7, 1974.
Surviving are a son, Benedict M. of South Bend; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church with Rev. Eugene J. Kazmierczak
officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in
Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Mrs. Banicki was a member of Group 129 of the Polish Women's Alliance of America and the Harvest
House of St. Adalbert.
