SOUTH BEND - Adeline Warniers, 89, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully at 5:45 am Thursday, October 6, 2016, in her home. She was born May 13, 1927, in South Bend, to the late Casimir and Charlotte “Lottie” (Borlik) Waligorski, and remained a lifelong area resident. On September 13, 1947, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, South Bend, Adeline married Roger Warniers, who survives. In addition to her loving husband of 69 years, she is survived by one daughter, Kathi (Nicholas) Borsodi of Chandler, AZ; one son, Jim (Peggy) Warniers of Scottsdale, AZ; two grandchildren, Nicholas J. (Maureen) Borsodi of Redondo Beach, CA, and Kristin (Brian) Laubenthal of Chandler, AZ; two step-grandchildren, Kimberly Borsodi of Lakeville, IN and Jonathan Borsodi of Goshen, IN; and two great-grandchildren, Braydon and Cruze Laubenthal; as well as two sisters, Ethal Jean Forte and Ester Tracey Cummings. Adeline was a graduate of Washington High School, where she was the 1945 prom queen. She worked as a librarian in the South Bend Public Library and was also a blood technician for Dr. Charles Proudfit. She loved animals and enjoyed growing gerbera daisies and roses. Mass of Christian Burial for Adeline will be celebrated at 12:00 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2016, in St. Theresa, Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood, South Bend, IN. Graveside services and entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 6:00 pm Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, as well as one hour prior to Mass Wednesday in the church. Contributions in memory of Adeline may be donated to Heartland Hospice, 230 W. Catalpa Drive, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to St. Theresa, Little Flower Catholic Church.
