Stanley J. Galeziewski, 89, of South Bend, passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2005, in Our Lady of Peace in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Stanley was born on June 1, 1916, to Louis and Angela (Kania) Galeziewski. His parents, brothers, Louis and Joseph, and sisters, Gladys Ambroziak, Mary Borlik and Helen Bonkowski, have preceded him in death. On February 5, 1949, Stanley married Virginia Babinski. She survives along with a daughter, Coreene (Don) McGowan of Indianapolis; son, Chris Galeziewski of Houston, Texas; and a granddaughter, Stephanie McGowan. Stanley worked as a tool grinder at Bendix for 39 years. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and belonged to the Holy Name Society, Married Men's Club, and Senior Citizens of the Parish. He also belonged to The Knights of Columbus 553, The Golden Cluster of St. Hedwig and the St. Joseph Young Men's Club. He enjoyed bowling in both the Knights of Columbus League and Bendix League. He liked classical music, gardening and fishing. He always made sure to keep the birds fed during the winter. Visitation will be today, November 30, 2005, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. MAYFLOWER ROAD, SOUTH BEND, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 1, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Casimir Church.
