SOUTH BEND, IN - Edward Paul Sipotz, 60, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 in his home. Ed was born June 29, 1958 in South Bend to the late Steven and Rita (Zapalski) Sipotz. Survivors of Ed include his uncle, William G. (Esther) Zapalski of North Liberty; fiance, Barbara J. Lahman and her sons, Alex and Travis Allabach; cousins and many close friends. His friends, Jeff Baltes and Jeff Peterson are assisting with his final arrangements. Ed farmed his whole life, had a passion for agriculture, and loved his black stripe IH 966 tractor. He was a graduate of New Prairie High School. Ed was a Warren Township Advisory Board Member. He was previously on the St. Joseph County AG Team, and a member of the IBEW Local 153. Ed was the owner of EME Electric prior to farming full time. Ed enjoyed attending Notre Dame sporting events, especially women's basketball games. Visitation for Ed will be 4:00 pm-8:00 pm on Friday, December 28, 2018 in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Holy Family Catholic Church with a one-hour visitation prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Ed's name. Condolences may be made at www.sjfh.net.
