On, Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Angels came to take our precious mother to her heavenly home. She was born on July 10, 1912 in South Bend as the daughter of the late Julius and Caroline (Nemeth) Poczik. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene and Helen Poczik; two brothers, Julius and Emery Poczik and by a grandchild, Deborah Sue Fry. On March 12, 1937 in South Bend as the former Julia Poczik she married Leon "Bud" Huyvaert who preceded her in death on August 23, 1993. Surviving are three children, Carolyn Fry of Mishawaka, Pat Dutoi of Mishawaka and Richard (Brenda) Huyvaert of Granger; six grandchildren, Ron (Lisa) Dutoi of Granger, Christine (Dwayne) Kazmierczak of Granger, Craig Fry of South Bend, Richard Huyvaert Jr. of Jimtown, IN, Dr. Jeffrey (Jennie) Huyvaert D.D.S. of New Carlisle and Michael Huyvaert of Granger; three great grandchildren, Kelly Kazmierczak, Breanna Kazmierczak and Jeffrey Huyvaert Jr.; and a sister Katherine Szeghy of New Carlisle, IN. Julia was a homemaker and a wonderful cook and never afraid to tackle a project be it large or small. She was a member of the former Mishawaka Homing Pigeon Club, the BK Ladies Auxiliary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she loved dogs of all kinds especially her beloved Tyson and Mickey. Julia loved children and working in her yard. She had prize winning flowers in her garden because of all her loving devotion and enjoyment from tending to them. She will now be sharing her talents in her Heavenly Fathers Garden. A private family graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8 in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka had been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
