Came to the US as "Stefanie DeWulf" from Belgium April 8, 1903, aboard the Kroonland, which sailed from Antwerp. She was listed on the manifest as a U.S. Citizen, as were the children who accompanied her: Mathilde (19), Clemence (17), Edmond (13), Maria (7), Arthur (5) and Henri (3). Stefanie was widowed in Belgium; the manifest says she and her children left their home in Sleidinge to join her son Emile DeWulf, who lived in South Bend. - EllisIsland.org Clemence married Emiel Rodts, who died in 1919. Then, according to an Iowa marriage record on familysearch.org Theophiel Rodts married Clemence DeWolf Rodts. The record says she is a widow from South Bend, In., and that her previous married name was also Rodts (dates are correct.) This would mean that Stefanie's maiden name was Niet and her first husband was August DeWolf. (Died in Belgium).
