On Mar. 17, 1903, Geza Hoffer, 2, arrived with his mother, Maria Hoffer, and siblings, Etelka and Marton Hoffer, at the port of New York aboard the S. S. Vaderland. They were on their way to join their father and husband, Geza Hoffer, already in South Bend.

On Nov. 12, 1927, in Elkhart Co., Indiana, "Jay" Hoffer married Mary Rosalie Nyikos. Jay, an employee at a dairy in Bremen, Indiana, had been born May 4, 1901 in Hungary to "Jay" & Mary Hoffer. Mary Nyikos, a telephone operator in South Bend, had been born Aug. 13, 1903 in Hungary to John & Victoria Nyikos. It was the first marriage for both of them. Geza's death certificate, for which his wife Mary (Nyikos) Hoffer was the informant, gives his date and place of death, and place of interment.
