Mishawaka-Eugenia M. Mazurkiewicz, 89, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Eugenia was born on September 25, 1928 in South Bend to Clem and Gertrude (Kubiak) Slisz. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Elaine, Danny and Mel; grandchild, Montana; daughters-in-law, Jackie and Cathy. In 1947 she married Matthew Mazurkiewicz; they divorced in 1985. Surviving are sons, Dennis of South Bend, James of Mishawaka, Michael of Mishawaka and Joseph (Chris) of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Jason, Tara, Kristen, Steffie, Katrine, Donnie, Rockne and Shannon; great grandchildren, Gabe, Mateo, Mariah, Benten, Baine, Bronze; ex-husband, Matthew Mazurkiewicz. Eugenia was a graduate of Washington High School in South Bend. She worked for Notre Dame Food Services in the Dining Hall for five years and retired in 1990. She enjoyed bowling; Notre Dame and Chicago Bears Football. Her life revolved around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her family deeply. As per Eugenia’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Immediate burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
