GRANGER - John Orosz, 80, of Granger, IN, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at Morningcrest Nursing Home in South Bend with his loving family at his bedside. John was born May 11, 1930, in South Bend, to the late John S. and Eugenia V. (Milewski) Orosz.On September 10, 1949, John married Maxine (Herkenroder) at St. Casimir Catholic Church in South Bend. John and Maxine shared 61 years of marriage together. John is survived by his wife Maxine and their two children, Jeanie (Dr. James) Canham of Hilton Head, S.C, and Kelly Tidwell of Granger, IN. John was a loving and caring grandfather to six grandchildren, Tara (Eric) Stachowiak, John Matheney, Alexandra Matheney, Andrea Tidwell, Katherine Canham and Joseph Canham. The Orosz family welcomed their first great-grandson, born on March 18, 2011. John is also survived by a brother, Richard (Barbara) Orosz of South Bend, IN. A sister, Sharon Lynch, and a brother, Donald Orosz, preceded John in death. John served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge. John was the owner of Oris Fence Company for 21 years, retiring in 1992. John was a member of the South Bend Tennis Club; he also enjoyed fishing and playing golf. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, from 5 until 8 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23rd, in the funeral home. Burial is to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. The family requested in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to The Center for Hospice, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. Published in South Bend Tribune on March 20, 2011
