GRANGER - Maxine Orosz, 78, of Granger, IN, passed away at 9:26 a.m. Sunday, June 19, 2011, in her residence. Maxine was born on August 31, 1932, in Alexandria, Ohio, to Ralph W. and Gladys (Rowland) Herkenroder. On September 10, 1949, in South Bend, IN, as Maxine Herkenroder, she married John J. Orosz. John preceded Maxine in death on March 17, 2011. Maxine was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph W. "Herk" Herkenroder; and a sister, Dorothy A. Plotner. Maxine is survived by two daughters, Jeanie (James) Canham of Hilton Head, SC, and Kelly Tidwell of Granger, IN; six grandchildren, Tara (Eric) Stachowiak, John Matheney, Alexandra Matheney, Andrea Tidwell, Katherine Canham and Joseph Canham; one great-grandchild, Lincoln Stachowiak. Maxine and her husband John were owners of Oris Fence where she worked for 21 years, retiring in 1992. Maxine was a member of the South Bend Tennis Club and enjoyed tennis, bowling and golf. Family and friends may call Thursday from 4 until 7 p.m. in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where funeral services will be on Friday, June 24, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Chuck Wotring officiating the funeral service, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
