Michael Stankiewicz of South Bend, IN died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 3, 2017. He was born on October 29, 1962 in South Bend, IN to the late Benedict and Delores Stankiewicz and remained a lifelong resident. Michael is survived by several grandchildren, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Nicholas Stankiewicz. Michael was a graduate of Washington High School class of 1981. He enjoyed gardening and was a sports enthusiast. He loved his dogs, Thunder and Stormie. The family would like to thank Marlene Hojara, Michael's neighbor who faithfully looked after him. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions in memory of Michael may be offered to Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S.
