SOUTH BEND - Margaret Mell, 90, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Margaret was born September 30, 1923, in Goshen, to the late Arthur and Hazel Kauffman. On December 29, 1945, Margaret married her loving husband, Wilbur Mell Jr. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Wilbur, in 2011; brother, Bobby Kauffman; sister, Helen Kauffman; granddaughter, Tammy Sue Mell; and son-in-law, Jerry Gibbney. Survivors of Margaret include her children, Arthur (Martha) Mell of Mishawaka, Sandra Gibbney of Angola, Douglas Mell of South Bend; granddaughters, Shellie (Jason) Huffer of Granger, Lisa (Kyle) Kaczemarek of Osceola; step-grandsons, Jason Wagner of Mishawaka, James Wagner of Cleveland; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Margaret was a graduate of South Bend Central High School. She was employed with Indiana Bell as a telephone operator. Visitation for Margaret will be 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm today, January 30, 2014, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Funeral Ceremony will be celebrated at 2:00 pm.
