Fond du Lac Reporter Monday, June 5, 1978

Dr. Michael A. Korb of 339 Rose Ave., who practiced denistry in Fond du Lac since 1922, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 1978, at St. Agnes Hospital after a short illness. Born at Marytown, he was a son of the late E. E. and Katherine Kremer Korb. He was educated in Boyd, Wis., and was graduated from Marguette Dental School in 1922. On June 14, 1930, he married Dolorosa "Peg" O'Brien at St. Joseph's Catholic Church here.
Dr. Korb was a member and former president of Fond du Lac County Dental Society, a member of the National and Wisconsin Dental Society, a charter member and first president of both the Serra Club and Fond du Lac Rotary Club. He was a life member of the Elk Club, a member and past faithful navigator of Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, a former director of the Marquette Association, member of St. Joseph's Church and Holy Name Society, South Hills and American Legion Post 75. Survivors include his wife; a son, John M. of Fond du Lac; a daughter, Miss Ann Korb of South Bend, Ind.; a grandson; a sister, Mrs. Ray (Mary) Berrum of Chippewa Falls; and a brother, Paul of Fair Water. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zacherl Funeral Home and at 1 p.m. at George J. Gibbons will officiate, and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends of Dr. Korb may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Francis Home, St. Mary's Springs High School and Marian College Foundation.
