SOUTH BEND - Patricia Jean Dudzinski, 85, formerly of Elderberry Lane, passed away Monday, October 14, 2013, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross. Patricia was born January 1, 1928, in South Bend, to the late Julius and Lottie (Sroda) Piechorowski. On September 3, 1951, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, Patricia married Edward J. Dudzinski. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2009. Patricia was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ann Palus and Joan Piechorowski; and brother, Eugene Piechorowski. Survivors of Patricia include her daughter, Kathleen Ann Dudzinski of South Bend; brothers-in-law, Theodore (Carolyn) Dudzinski of Lafayette, and James Palus of South Bend; sister-in-law, Nancy Piechorowski; and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was employed with R.L. Shaffer & Associate and the Bendix Corporation. She was a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Matthew and the Ladies Rosary Society, the Forever Learning Center and Polish Alliance Group #305. Patricia always had a smile for everyone she met. In her spare time she loved to knit. Visitation for Patricia will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Rd. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm on Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, October 17, 2013, in the Cathedral of St. Matthew with Msgr. Michael Heintz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Cathedral School or Bishop Crowley Fund, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, Indiana 46613. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
