SOUTH BEND - Edward J. Dudzinski, 83, passed away at 9:35 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Patricia J.; a daughter, Kathleen of South Bend; and a brother, Ted (Carolyn) Dudzinski of Lafayette. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m.

SOUTH BEND - Edward J. Dudzinski, 83, passed away at 9:35 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital. Edward was born on December 5, 1925, to the late Joseph and Mary (Labowicz) Dudzinski. He was preceded in death by a sister, Stephanie Cline; and brothers, Joseph and Henry. On September 3, 1951, Edward married Patricia J. (Piechorowski), who survives along with their daughter, Kathleen of South Bend, a brother, Ted (Carolyn) Dudzinski of Lafayette, several nieces and nephews Edward retried from the South Bend Police Department after 21 years of service. He then worked at the Post Office until his retirement. During World War II, Edward served in the U.S. Navy as a signalman. He was a member of FOP Lodge 36, the Achievement Forum, American Legion 357, the Holy Name Society, Leighton Center Volunteers and the Forever Learning Center. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bishop Crowley Education Fund, 1701 Miami St., South Bend, IN 46613.
