MISHAWAKA - Linda Ann Barbour, 71, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her husband, son, and daughter on Friday, April 2, 2021. Linda was born in South Bend, IN to the late Joseph and Mary Ann Vicsek. On January 20, 1968, in Mishawaka, Linda married the love of her life for the past 53 years, Donald Barbour who survives. Also surviving Linda is her son, Rich (Cristin) Barbour; her daughter, Brandie Umar, her grandchildren, Allie Wilson, Rich Barbour, Ashleigh Filley, Alara Umar, Aleyna Umar; and Linda's brother, John (Sue) Vicsek. Linda attended Vogue Beauty School and worked as a hairstylist for many years before becoming a chef at Hilltop Restaurant in Lakeville, IN. She had an enormous love for the outdoors and animals. She was an avid horseback rider, enjoyed camping and traveling with her family. She was known for hosting and entertaining large family parties. She was a strong, brilliant woman who lived for her family. Most importantly, the love that her husband and she shared was a storybook romance. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 6th from 10 am-12 pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral Services will begin at 12 pm. Linda will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden in Osceola, IN. Due to current public health and safety standards, social distancing will be enforced and masks required.
