Betty L. Molica, 95, of Niles, MI passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Betty was born on December 21, 1925 to Lewis and Edith (Reed) Blanchard in Niles, MI. On April 29, 1950, Betty married Anthony L. Molica at a ceremony in Niles. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed sewing and cooking. She loved making Italian meatballs and spaghetti for the family, as well as making many loaves of homemade bread for family and friends. She loved big band music, and talked about watching Tommy Dorsey, Guy Lombardo, and Louis Armstrong when they played in Niles, and she still watched and sang along to the Lawrence Welk Show every Saturday. Devoted as she was to her family, Betty also worked outside of the home. She left her hard-working mark at Clark Equipment, Electro-Voice, Simplicity, lastly retiring from Pawating Hospital. She is survived by her daughter, Minta (John) Hayford; son, Anthony (Roxanne) Molica, Jr; grandchildren, Justin Molica, Brittney Molica, and Nicholas Hayford. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. Funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Niles, MI with Reverend Christian Johnston officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Memorial donations may be made to Niles District Library, 620 East Main St., Niles, MI 49120.
