SOUTH BEND - Mary Jane Stopczynski, 76, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2010, in her residence. Mary Jane was born on May 10, 1933, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Irene (Buczynski) Bejma. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Bejma, and by her brother, Eugene Bejma. On September 27, 1958, she married Stanley Stopczynski in South Bend, who survives along with their three sons, David (Lisa) Stopczynski of South Bend, Ronald (Renee) Stopczynski of South Bend and Kenneth Stopczynski of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Shane (Jessica) Abigail, Alexander, Kyle, Thomas, Zachary, Sarah and Janey Stopczynski; her two brothers, Robert Bejma of Joelton, TN, and Bernard Bejma of South Bend; and by a sister, Patricia (Jim) Howard. Mary Jane was a member of the Bunko'ettes for 51 years. She enjoyed all her grandchildren and loved to watch them play sports. Mary also enjoyed watching the Cubs, Purdue and Notre Dame play as well. Her most favorite vacation was her trip to Alaska. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, April 19, 2010, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Family and friends may gather in St. John the Baptist where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, 3526 St. Johns Way, South Bend, IN 46628. For those who are unable to attend the funeral Mass, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
