SOUTH BEND - Florence B. Bajdek, 97, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 7:10 a.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle, IN. She was born on June 29, 1916 to the late Alexander and Wanda (Rozanski) Krzyzewski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eugenia Klepper & Ann Urbanski; and two brothers, John & Vincent Krzyzewski. On May 29, 1937, as Florence B. Krzyzewski, she married Michael J. Bajdek at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. Michael died on May 29, 2002. Florence is survived by her daughter, Carol (Michael) Barcza of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, John Barcza of South Bend, IN & Rebecca (Alex) LeMay of Chicago, IL; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Barcza, Matthew and Elizabeth Edelhauser, & Jordi LeMay; and one brother, Ted (Theresa) Krzyzewski of North Liberty, IN. Florence was a member of Christ the King Parish. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who found great joy in her family. Her German chocolate cake was a "must" for every family gathering. She loved crocheting and listening to audio books, especially Danielle Steel. Florence was loved and will be missed by all. The family would like to thank everyone at Miller's Merry Manor for the wonderful care Florence received as well as a heartfelt thank you to The Center for Hospice Care. Visitation will be from 3 -8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 Indiana State Route 933, South Bend, IN.
