Luise A. Signorino, 93, of Mishawaka, died Saturday March 31, 2018. Luise was born in Germany on November 6, 1924, the daughter of Edward & Ernestine (Erbe) Schmidt. She graduated from Mishawaka High School with the Class of ’43 and on October 19, 1945, Luise married Christopher Signorino in California while he was serving in the US Navy. Christopher preceded her in death on February 25, 2005 after 59 years of marriage. Luise retired from Nyloncraft, Inc. after 32 years of service, was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and cherished the time she spent looking after her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, especially during the winter months in Florida; she was an avid fan of Notre Dame Football and she enjoyed playing Bingo and an occasional visit to try her luck at the casinos. In addition to her parents and her husband, Luise was also preceded in death by her daughter, Toni Heinzman; her brother Robert Schmidt; sister, Norma Hein and daughter-in-law, Katie Signorino. Luise is survived by her son, Frank Signorino and daughter, Carole (Larry) Watson, both of Mishawaka; her sister, Joan Roesener of Constantine MI; grandchildren, James (Tara) Kalil of Dwight IL and Scott (Laura) Kalil of Elkhart; 8 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral Services 10:00 Saturday April 7, 2018 in Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Rd, South Bend, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Calling also on Friday from 4-8pm in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy. Private interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family’s preferred memorial is the Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
