MISHAWAKA - Susan M. Abel, 74, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016, in Memorial Hospital. Susan was born July 18, 1942, in South Bend, to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Rodman) LaCluyze. She was also preceded in death by her baby sister, Sylvia.Survivors of Susan include her children, Jennifer Abel, Jason Abel, and Jaclyn (Brian) Conley; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul, Keith, and Elizabeth LaCluyze.Susan graduated from Riley H.S. then attended Ivy Tech and Hamilton Colleges for various medical training. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. Susan enjoyed Genealogy, art and watching sports, especially when her grandchildren were playing. She was a very caring and generous person, always helping others through healthcare and donations. Most important to her was time spent with family and grandchildren.Visitation for Susan will be 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday, September 25, 2016, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Rd. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday, September 26, 2016, in Little Flower Catholic Church.
