Robert G. Brambert, 90, residing in Mishawaka, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was the son of the late Walter and Alice (Fisher) Brambert of South Bend. After graduating South Bend Catholic High School, he joined the Army and served in the South Pacific, returned to South Bend, and served a second time at West Point Academy.Robert married Virginia Ryback on Sept. 30, 1950 at St. Stanislaus Church, and they were married for 61 years until her death in 2012. He is survived by two sons, Robert (Tammy) Brambert Jr. of Phoenix, AZ, and David (Annette) Brambert of Bloomingdale, IL; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and his brother Richard Brambert of Hammond, IN. He was preceded in death by his daughter Charlene (Stephen) Pirages; his sister Patricia (Eugene) Lorence; and his brother James Brambert. Robert lived most of his life in South Bend, but spent 30 years in Rockford, IL where he had a career selling Carrier Heating and Air Conditioning. He was an active member for many years of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and member of Knights of Columbus. He was a friend to all, and many people will remember his humor with a smile on their faces. Visitation will be at the Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN 46635 on Monday, January 29th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 30th at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN, where friends may visit one hour prior to services.
